Safety: New parking features and advanced assistance systems

  • Travel Assist 2.6 combines several safety systems and makes extended use of swarm data
  • New digital features enhance convenience for parking and vehicle access

Mladá Boleslav, 31 March 2025 – The new Škoda Enyaq and Škoda Enyaq Coupé offer an even higher level of active and passive safety, thanks in particular to their range of standard assistance systems, which has been further expanded with Blind Spot Detection and Crew Protect Assist. Moreover, the Travel Assist 2.6 system makes extended use of swarm data for even more advanced driver support, and owners can now control parking manoeuvres from outside the vehicle using Intelligent Park Assist.

Standard assistance systems
Blind Spot Detection and Crew Protect Assist are now part of the extensive list of active and passive safety features in the new Enyaq. Blind Spot Detection includes Rear Traffic Alert and Exit Warning, which monitor what is happening around the car to help avoid collisions with other road users, while Crew Protect Assist is designed to optimally protect occupants in the event of an unavoidable accident.

The list of standard safety features also includes Predictive Adaptive Cruise Control (pACC), which optimises energy consumption by automatically adapting the speed to the route, using data from the vehicle’s sensors. Intelligent Speed Assist automatically follows speed limits based on Traffic Sign Recognition and when entering built-up areas. Other standard systems include Attention and Drowsiness Assist, which monitors the driver’s alertness and attention, and Lane Assist, which helps keep the vehicle in its lane.

Comprehensive Travel Assist Plus makes use of swarm data
The comprehensive Travel Assist Plus function now makes extended use of swarm data collected from Volkswagen Group vehicles. The Enyaq continuously downloads detailed maps of its surroundings, created by vehicles that have previously driven through the area. This data, protected by two-stage anonymisation, increases the system’s effectiveness and adaptability in various driving situations. With swarm data support, for instance, the vehicle can handle areas with sparse road markings, such as incomplete longitudinal lane lines on both sides. In addition to the online swarm data for predictive cornering assist and Predictive Adaptive Cruise Control (pACC), the Travel Assist Plus also includes Adaptive Lane Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, and Emergency Assist.

New digital features simplify parking and vehicle access
The optional Intelligent Park Assist introduces two new functions. Remote Parking allows the Enyaq to automatically enter parallel and perpendicular parking spaces, while the owner controls the manoeuvre via the MyŠkoda app on their smartphone. Using Bluetooth, the system works with the owner standing near the vehicle while holding the key. After selecting the desired type of manoeuvre, the Enyaq autonomously handles steering, braking, and movement. Trained Parking enables the car to “learn” approaches of up to 50 meters in length to five specific parking locations. Once a saved space is recognised, the Enyaq can drive itself there automatically. With Remote Trained Parking, the driver can control this learned parking manoeuvre from outside the car, again using the MyŠkoda app. Keyless entry, standard for the Enyaq, offers added convenience with its Open‑On‑Approach function, which unlocks the doors and tailgate when the key holder comes within 1.5 metres of the car. Walk-Away Locking automatically locks the vehicle when the key is moved more than 2.5 metres away from the vehicle.
