2026 Hyundai Elexio (China)

The Hyundai Elexio is a newly unveiled, fully electric SUV developed specifically for the Chinese market by Beijing Hyundai, a joint venture between Hyundai Motor Company and BAIC Motor.

This model marks Hyundai’s first dedicated electric vehicle engineered entirely in China, aiming to revitalize the brand’s presence in the world’s largest EV market. Its first all-electric SUV built on the E-GMP platform. Featuring a 700-kilometer range, Haomo.AI driver assistance, and LLM-based voice control, the model targets China’s mainstream EV segment and is scheduled to launch in Q3 2025.

Built on Hyundai’s E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform), which supports both single- and dual-motor configurations. The Elexio is advertised to achieve over 700 km (435 miles) on a single charge, based on China’s CTLC testing cycle and supports fast charging from 30% to 80% in approximately 27 minutes.

Technology

Equipped with a Qualcomm SA8295 chip powering an advanced infotainment system. Features Level 2+ ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) for semi-autonomous driving capabilities. The Elexio also incorporates Haomo.AI driver assistance and LLM-based voice control for enhanced user interaction

Exterior

The streamlined body aesthetics, dynamic posture, the Elexio carefully crafted details, both internal and external quality debuts, reconstructing the value of pure electric.

The Elexio showcases a distinct design with rounded surfaces, diverging from the angular aesthetics of Hyundai’s global Ioniq models. Notable features include: Four-point LED headlights, symbolizing the number 8, considered auspicious in Chinese culture. Flush door handles and glossy black accents to enhance aerodynamics and contrasting D-pillar extending into the rear spoiler for a dynamic profile.

Interior

Minimalist aesthetics, pioneering quality with break through with design and win with quality.

While detailed interior images haven’t been released, Hyundai has indicated a minimalist dashboard with an “intelligent interface” devoid of physical buttons, a new digital instrument cluster with emphasis on simplicity and ample storage compartments.

The Elexio is slated for release in China in Q3 2025. Currently, there are no confirmed plans for its availability in other markets, including the United States.
